About

Welcome to our site for Baby Hope. We are using it to keep family and friends updated on her progress as she arrives and navigates her treatment plan. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On March 3, 2017, John and I learned that our unborn baby girl, who we call Hope for now, due July 30, 2017, would be born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). HLHS is a severe congenital heart defect, where the left side of the heart is severely under developed and not functioning. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002096/

We have been told by the best doctors at both Cincinnati Children’s and Boston Children’s Hospitals that indeed, no doubt about it, she has HLHS, and will struggle with her heart for the rest of her life.   Although her condition is serious, it is treatable and the team at Children’s has a great plan.
