Celebrating Hope

Eleanor Hope Anne Sansbury passed away peacefully in her loving parents’ arms on the morning of September 16, 2019. She bravely fought a life-long battle with Congenital Heart Disease and a subsequent Heart Transplant just three months after her birth on July 25, 2017. Treasured daughter of John and Tess Sansbury. Beloved granddaughter of Dr. John and Anne Sansbury and J. David and Terrie Martin. Adored Heart Warrior of the World.

Hope lived wrapped in joy for two magical years. She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends. The story of Hope’s courageous fight spread quickly amongst friends and family… and friends of friends… and friends of those friends. Her smile illuminated every room and her laugh was infectious, quickly turning strangers into adoring fans. Though she was born with only half of a heart, she brought out a pure and wholehearted love in others, shining a little more Hope in everyone’s lives.

  1. I can’t imagine the pain you all are going through. I just pray that you as a family can make it through such a horrible loss. I pray that Hope brought so much joy to your lives that she can help you all make it to the next adventure here on earth! She was here for a short time for a reason that we may never understand. Hope. Love, and Joy was Jaylee’s theme tonight at youth group. She painted a rock in Hopes name to be picked out of a sink by parish members that may be struggling. It warms my heart that she keeps on spreading her spirit for those left behind. As I said before..fly high sweet baby! 💞

  5. As we’ve been doing since the moment we met you Tess, we are praying for you…though today we do so in hope to lift Hope up, to celebrate her short but blessed time here on this Earth. You & John are an inspiration to us all – you exemplify all characteristics that a loving parent should be…I have often thought, I’m not sure that I could have handled this as well as you both have. You’ve loved, advocated, fought for, snuggled, & cried every day & every night with that beautiful child. Today, we weep with you, but will find comfort knowing that Hope is flying high & watching over you today & smiling with her whole heart knowing that she was so loved here on this Earth. God bless you both everyday, but even more so today.
Sending our love & warmest regards,
Courtney, Tim, Charley, & fellow heart warrior, Caden ♥️
